It’s Raining Puppies and Kittens at Palmetto Animal League

As an animal rescue professional, I have held hundreds of puppies and kittens in my arms, all of them adorable, innocent, sweet – and all of them homeless.

Springtime is busy at the Palmetto Animal League Adoption Center with mothers giving birth in large numbers. Puppies and kittens born at PAL are some of the lucky ones. As a private, non-profit, no kill animal rescue organization, we are dedicated to saving every life possible. These precious bundles of joy are costly and require around-the-clock care. With your help, we can provide a safe haven for the abandoned mothers and newborns the rest of the world has forgotten.

Join the No Kill Movement. Help us welcome these babies into the world by giving them the start they deserve. Here are a few great ways you can help.

  • Bring puppy or kitten supplies to the PAL Adoption Center located in Okatie’s Riverwalk Business Park (56 Riverwalk Blvd). We are in special need of the following supplies for puppies: Esbilac or other puppy milk replacer, puppy bottles, large bale cedar shavings, puppy toys, canned and dry puppy food, Pedialyte and baby food (chicken and turkey meat only). Our kittens could really use the following items: KMR or any kitten milk replacer, kitten bottles, small kitten litter boxes, canned kitten food, kitten toys and Royal Canin baby cat food.
  • Support one newborn, or a whole litter, by donating to our 1,000 Lives Worth Saving campaign. Visit www.palmettoanimalleague.org/lives-worth-saving to make a one-time gift of $99 or a recurring gift of $9 a month. Your special donation helps PAL shower each newborn with all the love and care they need as they grow and prepare for adoption.
  • Become a foster parent. If you have been looking for a meaningful way to make a difference, now is the time! By providing a temporary home for puppies or kittens, you are helping PAL save as many lives as possible.

While puppies and kittens get adopted quickly, please remember the mothers. They need homes, too!

Our pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. All they need is you! Visit the PAL Adoption Center Monday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. to meet our adoptable pets.
