Extreme cuteness propels local rescue pups onto the national stage

They say every dog has its day, and that’s especially true for a group of puppies rescued by Palmetto Animal League (PAL), a private, non-profit, no kill organization located in Okatie, SC. The adoptable pups, ranging in age from 3 to 6 months old, will be featured as a part of Puppy Bowl XV, which is set to air Sunday, February 3 at 3 p.m. on Animal Planet.

Freshly bathed and groomed, the PAL puppies filmed the lead-in to Puppy Bowl XV as well as a national Subaru commercial that will air during the program. During December, Animal Planet’s production crew filmed the puppies at different locations throughout Bluffton, Okatie and Savannah, including Peacock Subaru and the PAL Adoption Center.

The local Peacock Subaru dealership was selected by Subaru of America to be featured in this year’s Puppy Bowl because of its involvement with PAL and other animal welfare organizations in the community.

“We are honored to be featured on a national level based on our local efforts at Peacock Subaru,” said Warner Peacock, president and CEO of Peacock Automotive. “Helping homeless animals is something all of us care about, as many of us have rescue pets of our own. Any opportunity to support these animals and the people helping them is a win in our book.”

The local dealership’s passion for helping shelter pets led to this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our hometown Palmetto Animal League puppies, too.

“We can’t thank Peacock Subaru enough,” says PAL Development Coordinator, Stephanie Bashaw. “Every year, they come up with fun and unique ways to celebrate the beauty of pet adoption.”

Supported solely by compassionate individual donors and local businesses that participate in the organization’s ‘Partners in Rescue’ program PAL’s no kill shelter serves as a temporary residence for approximately 200 cats and dogs while they wait to find a loving home.

“Our facility provides a comfortable environment, but it could never be a substitute for a home of their own,” says Palmetto Animal League President, Amy Campanini.

With national exposure on the horizon during Puppy Bowl XV, these precious pups and all their friends at the PAL Adoption Center are hoping to play the starring role in their very own story soon.

Tune in for the most adorable grid-iron action you’ve ever seen in Puppy Bowl XV Sunday, February 3 at 3 p.m. on Animal Planet. Even better, join the Puppy Bowl Watch Party at Peacock Subaru starting at 2:30 p.m. Enjoy all the cuteness of Puppy Bowl as you snuggle with adoptable PAL puppies and munch on delicious tailgate food from One Hot Mama’s.
