Palmetto Animal League’s annual Bid for PAL Online Auction is celebrating 10 years of saving lives – animals like 15-year-old Yo-Yo who was found in a trap and taken to a shelter where his days were numbered. PAL rescued Yo-Yo and brought him to their adoption center where he has designated himself as the front desk greeter. PAL’s auction saves the lives of hundreds of animals like Yo-Yo every year.
The fundraiser takes place April 25-28 at www.PALauction.org, featuring hundreds of fantastic items donated by many of the Lowcountry’s most popular businesses. Bidding is fun, simple and life-saving. For those who have never taken part before, it’s time to experience this long-standing community tradition.
“Each person who visits the auction website is sure to find something they love,” says Stephanie Bashaw, who is heading up this year’s Bid for PAL Online Auction. “Some people like to search for items they’re interested in, like golf packages, spa treatments, and dining experiences, while others enjoy the excitement of browsing simply because shopping is fun!”
The Bid for PAL online auction goes live Thursday, April 25 at 8 a.m. and continues through Sunday, April 28 at 10 p.m. Folks can view the catalog now, which is packed with incredible items from Hilton Head, Bluffton, Beaufort and beyond. It’s a shopping excursion like no other, with proceeds going to support PAL’s no kill animal rescue programs that keep homeless pets from slipping through the cracks.
“Because of the community support we receive, PAL can actively seek out and save pets in the most hopeless of situations before it’s too late,” explains Palmetto Animal League President Amy Campanini. “This auction allows us to rescue hundreds of beautiful animals the rest of the world has forgotten.”
PAL’s Adoption Center, located in Okatie’s Riverwalk Business Park, is a cheery, cozy and welcoming facility that provides a home-like environment for more than 200 dogs and cats while they wait to be adopted. In addition to its adoption center, to help cover the costs of its rescue programs, Palmetto Animal League also operates a community clinic that offers wellness exams, vaccines, spay/neuter and other services to the public at affordable prices.
PAL’s auction is the non-profit animal rescue’s largest fundraiser. Thanks, in large part, to the support they receive during the auction, PAL stands as a beacon of compassion and hope for abandoned animals like Yo-Yo all year long.
These are Lives Worth Saving. Everyone can shop to save homeless pets at www.PALauction.org when the 10th Annual Bid for PAL Online Auction goes live on April 25, and if you get a chance, stop by PAL to meet Yo-Yo. He’ll be the dapper fellow at the front desk, lounging in his basket while showing off his signature bowtie.
