HELPING ELOISE WALK AGAIN.

Meet Eloise! She is a sweet 3 year old girl who is a giant love bug. Her wagging tail and sweet disposition bring joy to everyone she meets. Eloise needed our help so she could walk again.

Eloise had been neglected and was in pitiful shape when PAL rescued her from a South Carolina shelter. The shelter couldn’t keep her because of her poor physical condition. Eloise was emaciated. She had a painful skin infection. Her legs were so wobbly that she had trouble standing and moving around was difficult.

During her short time at PAL, Eloise has made great strides. She has steadily been gaining weight and we’re happy to report that her skin infection is now under control. Unfortunately, as she waited to find her forever home, her wobbly legs continued to deteriorate and now Eloise can’t walk at all.

Like you, PAL believes every animal deserves a second chance at life. After visits to specialists, we learned that Eloise has a cyst on her spine that prevented her brain from “talking” to her legs. A neurologist in Charleston evaluated Eloise and determined the cyst could be removed so that she could regain the use of her legs. Eloise needed a 3-hour surgery plus 3-5 days of recovery at the hospital. PAL needed to raise $5,000 to cover her medical expenses (surgery, hospital recovery & physical therapy) and Eloise was scheduled for surgery next week. Together, we raised the money needed for her surgery and recovery quickly and Eloise went to Charleston for her surgery.

Eloise got her second chance!
