Smiley had been hobbling around on a severely deformed leg since birth. At two years old, Smiley had no collar, no microchip, and no hope. His crippling deformity was a constant, bitter reminder that he was all alone in this world. PAL kept Smiley from being euthanized at another shelter due to his medical needs and gave him the urgent care he so desperately needed. Our vets determined that removing his leg was his best chance at a life well lived.
After healing from surgery, Smiley embraced his new beginning on three strong legs. Now, with his burdensome leg but a memory, Smiley has a wonderful quality of life, and this grateful soul finally gets to do all the things he loves with ease.
