Cheryl Dewland
Cheryl Dewland was born and raised in New Jersey, where she lived until moving to the Lowcountry of South Carolina in 2014. As a child known to bring home any stray or wounded animal that crossed her path, Cheryl has been involved in animal rescue since a very young age. With a special love of horses, she became formally involved in rescue in her 20’s and eventually found herself lobbying to end the cruel practice of bringing horses to slaughter and to end wild horse round ups. More recently, Cheryl has been lobbying for the enforcement of animal protection laws in SC.
She worked as an executive in the hotel industry in New York City for over 25 years before working her way up to VP of Sales in the arena of resort and residential real estate development in New Jersey. Cheryl is currently the principal of the consulting firm Hospitality Sales Solutions, a Managing Partner of Southern Comfort Wax, LLC, and the Board Treasurer for Palmetto Animal League.
Cheryl has been volunteering and fostering for PAL since 2015. She also volunteers for Grace Farm and Animal Sanctuary, which offers therapeutic treatment for Veterans with PTSD. Cheryl has 5 rescue dogs, a horse named Raven, and a house full of foster animals at any given time.
