Love is in the air this time of year, and for one rescue dog named Roscoe; love is what saved his life – more than once.
Roscoe was originally adopted from Palmetto Animal League in August 2019, only to end up homeless and wandering the streets in Tacoma, Washington 2,900 miles away. It was heartbreaking to hear that Roscoe’s adopter had given up on him, but PAL is a place of second chances, so we went to work planning on how to bring Roscoe home. The great folks at the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County took wonderful care of Roscoe while we worked through some red tape to fly him across the country. In the end, compassionate gifts from folks like you not only brought Roscoe home from Washington State, but also allowed us to have Dog Gone Taxi, a pet relocation service, assure his comfort and safety throughout the long trip.
Thanks to the outpouring of love and support we received for Roscoe, this sweet boy now gets another chance at a beautiful life. Because of heartfelt gifts from caring people, we can promise Roscoe that he will find someone who will love him for life! Love brought Roscoe back to PAL and love will, eventually, send him “home” with his soulmate.
This month alone, right here in our community, countless animals will suffer unspeakable fates through no fault of their own. But you have the power to change that, right now, for one innocent soul waiting for rescue. You have an opportunity to write a story with a joyous ending for another pet like Roscoe.
Your impact is real for the abandoned, abused and neglected animals PAL serves, and we want you to be part of the rescue process! Now through Valentine’s Day, you can share the love with pets in need by sending a valentine to the animal lovers in your life. Visit www.PalmettoAnimalLeague.org and click on “Send a Valentine” to make a donation and PAL will email your designated recipients a special card. Your eCard will not only make their day; it will mark a new beginning for a pet in need of rescue. What better gift to give this Valentine’s Day than the gift of life!
This month, please consider stopping by Palmetto Animal League, in Okatie’s Riverwalk Business Park, to visit with a pet and learn their story. A little bit of your time can go a long way for an animal in need of companionship. On Valentine’s Day, and all year long, unconditional love is as close as your nearest animal shelter.
