Wanting to Love Again

At Palmetto Animal League, we never leave an animal behind and we believe in second chances for all. This applies to all animals, including those with medical issues, disabilities and senior pets. No matter the issue, we are lifelong partners with each animal we rescue.

Sometimes an animal is facing multiple points of concern, and while these pets take a little longer to adopt, they are often the ones who imprint themselves on our souls here at PAL.

Luigi is a prime example. He is a large, handsome boy who is 13 years young. He lived a wonderful life with one family all those years, 100% indoors until…

Hold up. I don’t like people talking about me as if I’m not here. Also, you’re making me sound dull and boring. I’ll take it from here.

I’m Luigi. My first mom became very ill and my dad cried when he sat me down to talk about the changes to come. He apologized for having to give me up and promised PAL would find me a safe place to live out my years.  I understand this was a difficult decision for my dad and I forgive him.

As you heard, I’m pushing 14 years old, but don’t let my age fool you. I’m fat, happy, and spry! I am a creature of habit though, and I like to live life on my terms.

I prefer to live with humans only. Speaking of that, when it comes to housemates, I have a few criteria. I will come to you for attention. You can rub my belly only if I offer, and I’ll let you know when it’s time to stop. Last but not least, please don’t squeeze me or dress me up. It’s not cool.

I’m a healthy declawed man who does not like to travel. Carriers, cages and small rooms stress me out.

If you’re looking for a cat who is a good listener, I’m interviewing. I know the next chapter of my life is up in the air, but I can’t wait to find a sunny new window pane to call my own.

If you’re interested in meeting me, Luigi, stop by Palmetto Animal League Monday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. I’ll be in the quietest cat room at the end of the hall. In my humble opinion, I’m the most handsome cat at the Adoption Center so you’re bound to locate me easily.
