Surrender – But Never Give Up

I decided to start Palmetto Animal League because ordinary shelters are limited, and I wanted homeless pets to stand a better chance. PAL takes a unique and compassionate approach to animal rescue. Animals often arrive at our No Kill Adoption Center frightened and in need of medical attention. Our caring and devoted staff give these pets a healthy new start, both physically and mentally. When a cat or dog finds a family, PAL extends a lifetime commitment to the adopter. Many who come to PAL find the next love of their life, but if at any time the adopter can no longer care for the pet, we will accept the animal back and work to find them a new home. Ultimately, we believe that by supporting people and their pets, we are building a better and stronger community.

In recent months, we have experienced an unusual influx in animal surrenders. About a dozen dogs who had found a family have been returned to PAL for various reasons. We welcome these wonderful creatures back with loving arms, and we won’t give up until we find them a forever home. Please take a moment to read a few of their stories.

Thanks to the steadfast support of our community, we can welcome these pets back into the home-like environment of the PAL Adoption Center. While our facility is filled with tender loving care, there is no substitute for a true home and the one-on-one kinship that forms between a family and a beloved pet. The dogs mentioned above have been through more than most, and they deserve a family for life. They are Lives Worth Saving. Please encourage people to visit the Palmetto Animal League Adoption Center when searching for a new pet.
