Our President

Amy Campanini has been Palmetto Animal League’s President since 2006.

Amy, a Johnson and Wales trained chef, originally from Lancaster County, PA, moved to Beaufort County, SC in 1991. Amy had a catering business when she started volunteering for the Animal League in 2002. At that time there was a Board of Directors, but no President. As the organization grew, there was a need for a paid director. Since Amy found herself logging 30+ hours a week as a volunteer, she accepted the challenge to learn more about the business and move the organization forward.

Amy gave up her culinary career when she took on the Animal League’s president position in 2006. Amy is passionate about animals and has a particular fondness for cats with special needs. Amy is the heart and soul of Palmetto Animal League and she is dreaming of the day that our community will offer all companion animals safety and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. Amy is committed to the no-kill philosophy and has faith that our community can eventually reach that goal.
